Yet another Nordic operator benchmark in 2026 – and the first-ever Baltic operator benchmark

Reference: Benchmarks, 2026

Born in 2013 and developed since, Tefficient’s comprehensive telco business benchmark delivered in 2026 as heavyweight operators across the Nordic participated – but also, for the first time with its own unique peer group, heavyweight operators from the three Baltic countries.

All participating operators have now been through comprehensive and tailored presentations of their 987 key performance indicators (KPIs) resulting in Tefficient’s operator-specific recommendations. Covering crucial areas such as revenue, operating costs, CAPEX, headcount productivity, subscriptions & channels, performance, load, quality, and innovation & growth, this benchmark caters to 53 functions across mobile, fixed, and integrated operators.

Exclusively sourced from either:

  • Leading Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Danish operators, or
  • Leading Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian operators,

the peer group data is of highest quality in both Nordics and Baltics. To honor pre-agreed confidentiality requirements, participating operators remain anonymous, safeguarding the privacy of their data.

Tefficient’s benchmark has earned the reputation of being the industry’s best-kept secret. However, its value has enticed a few new Nordic participants this year, joining the returning operators who actively rely on the benchmark to drive continuous improvement. In addition, a separate Baltics-only benchmark was done for the first time.

The results obtained through these benchmarks highlight the significance of a region-specific approach. Nordic operators have been compared with other Nordic operators while Baltic operators have been compared with other Baltic operators.

Both Nordic and Baltic operators possess global leadership in various business aspects, making an out-of-region benchmark insufficient for guiding their further progress. Participating operators now have access to a powerful tool that can be used to strengthen their local competitiveness even more.

As we do every year, the Nordic and Baltic operator benchmarks will continue to evolve based on invaluable input from participants. The next cycle is scheduled to commence in January 2027.
